Life After School for Young People with ASC will discuss the experiences of young people on the autistic spectrum as they grow up. Looking at issues ranging from going to college or university, employment, social activities and vulnerabilities and the law. Speakers include those on the spectrum and professionals working with young people on the spectrum. The main speaker is Chris Bonnello, author and former teacher with Asperger Syndrome, Chris runs the Facebook site: Autistic Not Weird.
The event is organized by AUTUS Cumbria and will be held on Saturday 4 Nov at Furness College in Barrow, the attached poster gives more details. It should be of interest to teachers, employers, service providers, parents and young people who are interested in the issues being discussed. In addition to the talks there will be the opportunity for one-to-one discussions.
